How to Play Baccarat
The Game
The elegant card game of Baccarat is a very easy one to play. Two hands are dealt onto the table. One hand is the "bank" hand and the other is the "player" hand. Each hand receives two cards, and possibly a third. You may wager that the bank hand will score higher, or that the player hand will score higher, or that there will be a tie. The score of a hand is calculated by adding the values of its cards. An ace is worth one; 2 through 9 are worth face value; face cards and tens are worth zero. If the total is ten or more, subtract ten from the total. The resulting score is a number between zero and nine.
For Example:
Ace + 7 = 8
5 + 6 = 1 (total is eleven, subtract ten to get score) King + Queen + 2 = 2 (King and Queen are zero)
If the hand you bet on scores higher (closer to nine), you win the bet.

Placing a Bet
Before you play the game, you must place your bet. Select your bet by clicking the BANK, PLAYER or TIE betting spot. Click the buttons on the left of the bet amount to decrease the bet. Click the buttons on the right of the bet amount to increase the bet. You may place a side bet on Tie by clicking on the checkbox labeled side bet on tie . Clicking this box enables you to bet on a tie in addition to your bet on either the bank or player. While the box is checked, you may move your bet between the Bank and Player spots, but the Tie spot bet remains. You may adjust the amount of each bet independently. You may remove your side bet by clicking on the checkbox again. When you are satisfied with your bet, click the Deal button to start a new hand. Playing the GameThe banker hand and player hand receive two cards each to start. Depending upon the scores, the bank or player may need to draw a third card. If the game instructs you to draw another card for the bank or player, you must click the Deal button to deal the card. If either hand scores eight or nine, the hand is a "natural" and neither hand receives a third card. If neither hand is a natural, the player hits a five or less, and stands on a six or seven. If the player does not receive a third card, then the bank hits a five or less, and stands on a six or seven. If the player does receive a third card, then:

Payouts
A winning bet on the player hand pays even money. Since the bank hand has a natural advantage in Baccarat, a winning bet on the bank hand pays back your original bet plus only 95% (95 ¢ per dollar wagered).
For Example:
A winning $100 bank bet pays $95
A winning $50 bank bet pays $47.50
A winning tie bet pays 8 to 1! If you bet on the bank or player, and the hand ends in a tie, the result is a "push," and you do not forfeit your bank/player bet.
Exiting the Game
